Fantasy Kingdoms Walkthrough and General Guide

Fantasy Kingdoms Facebook Game Guide

Note on 11 February: The number of Fantasy Kingdoms players increases dramatically every week now and exceeds 90,000. New Quests were introduced recently to help the new players with the game and these now have been added to this Guide.

Some of the Items listed originally in the Guide no longer are available but I have chosen not to delete them as players often will see Limited Edition items on Neighbour's Kingdoms and wonder how to obtain them.

Note by Freyashawk: You can see my review and some screenshots of the game at:

Introduction

To describe Fantasy Kingdoms as a farming simulation game on Facebook may be accurate in general terms but it has become far more than that. New options for 'spellcrafting' allow players to create Buildings and special Limited Edition Items.

As with any of the games on Facebook, its primary goal, apart from entertaining users and sustaining their interest is to encourage social networking. It is a free game and definitely is worth exploring if you appreciate farming, fantasy, folk magic and folk myth.

As a player, your primary goal is to expand and improve your Kingdom by growing Crops, Trees, adding buildings and other structures as well as Creatures, Pets and landscaping in the form of artifacts and decorations. To do any of this, you need Mana. Mana is a concept familiar to most players of traditional RPGs and can be translated loosely as 'Energy'. Unlike combat games like Castle Age, however, Mana is currency as well as the energy needed to cast spells. Any sort of Farming in Fantasy Kingdoms is a form of Spellcasting. Whenever you till the soil, plant seeds, you use Mana. When you harvest grown Crops or 'Fruits' from Trees or tend your buildings and artifacts, you gain Mana.

Crop Seeds in the form of Magic Potions are very beautiful and creative, combining traditional Northern European folk magic and medicine with wit. Seeds available in the very early stages of the game include Cattails, Fresia, Sunflowers, Foxgloves and Chickens and Hens.

The Foxgloves and Fresias resemble the actual medicinal flowers in the real world, but Sunflowers are exquisite sun lamps that grow and 'blossom' into full suns when ready to be harvested. Spider Flowers are crops that grow spider webs. Fantasy Crops that do not exist in the real world include Eye of Newt with blossoms in the form of eyes.

Neighbours can visit your Kingdom to perform small tasks for you and to enchant your Crops so that they grow larger and have more potential to yield special items when harvested. You can succeed in your game without a large number of neighbours, however. In this respect, the game differs from other Facebook games such as Castle Age or Yoville, where the number of individuals you persuade to join the game affects your earnings and success.

Recently, the ability to own more than one Kingdom has been added to the game. You now can have a total of five Kingdoms, allowing a player to divide the landscapes between seasons or according to theme.

The 'world' of Fantasy Kingdoms is based on traditional Elemental powers: Fire, Ice, Wind, Earth, Light and Darkness. The Castles of Halo and Shadow, for example, fall into the categories of Light and Darkness respectively. The ability to 'freeze' Crops at any stage of growth is one of the powers given to players by the Ice Elemental.

Although there are some strategy considerations in playing Fantasy Kingdoms to maximise your income and use of your land, the real nature of this game in my view is to participate and shape an incredible work of art in the creation of a world based on traditional fairytale and myth. For players who are drawn to fantasy and legend, the game is sheer delight. The fact that there are no limits on the number of gifts that can be exchanged between friends and neighbours on Facebook makes it easy to derive significant pleasure in the ability to landscape the Kingdom you are given even at the very start of the game and at low Levels of experience. Although there is a limit of 22 Gifts that can be initiated by the player to send to others, there is no limit to the 'thank you gifts' that can be returned to other players.

Fantasy Kingdoms is made by Sneaky Games in Austin, Texas. The makers obviously invest energy in updating and improving the gaming experience of players involved in Fantasy Kingdoms. So far, new items have been added every few days in every Category, including Free Gifts. Screenshot Competitions are held frequently and the winners receive monetary awards.

Currency in Fantasy Kingdoms

There are two forms of currency in Fantasy Kingdoms. One is Mana and the other is Kingdom Cash, abbreviated as KC in this Guide. Kingdom Cash can be purchased with real money by credit/debit card or even through PayPal but you will earn Kingdom Cash as well as Mana in the course of gameplay.

Fantasy Kingdoms is less aggressive than many of the other games on Facebook in attempting to persuade you to 'add' friends to the game. Although you can send an unlimited number of free gifts to your neighbours and visit their farms in order to 'enchant' their Crops and aid them in other tasks, you can pursue your game alone without many interruptions. In this respect, I found it refreshing and less commercial. Unfortunately, like almost ALL the games on Facebook, it does include external links on a separate page to businesses where you can earn Kingdoms Cash by subscribing to the services offered there. These include subscriptions to periodicals, Disney DVD clubs and so on.

Although one of the goals a player should have is to play these games without being forced to invest real money in them, 'free' games cost money to produce and players who truly love a game should be willing to invest some money in it when they are able to do so.

The cost of Kingdoms Cash is as follows as of February 2011:

8 Kingdoms Cash: $2.00
22 Kingdoms Cash: $5.00
45 Kingdoms Cash: $10.00
100 Kingdoms Cash: $20.00
260 Kingdoms Cash: $50.00
550 Kingdoms Cash: $100.00

If you study the price lists of the items at the Market, you will see that 22 Kingdoms Cash can buy quite a number of items. An investment of $5.00 really is not outrageous expense for a game that is clever and very beautiful in terms of its graphics.

Converting Kingdoms Cash to Mana

As of February 2011, you can purchase either Kingdoms Cash or Mana with real money.

Prices are:

15000 Mana: $2.00
42000 Mana: $5.00
85000 Mana: $10.00
188000 Mana: $20.00
488000 Mana: $50.00
1000000 Mana: $100.00

Once purchased, you do have the option to convert Kingdoms Cash into Mana as well. It is far better to earn the Mana through gameplay if you can be patient and determined.

In Fantasy Kingdoms, the Market sometimes will list the same item twice, once with a Kingdoms Cash price and the second time with a price in Mana points. This is the case primarily with Land Upgrades. You then have a choice in many cases to purchase an item either by trading real money for it or by earning it.

Facebook Credits and FK

Recently, Facebook became the primary conduit for sales of Kingdoms Cash and Mana. When purchased through Facebook, the initial purchase will be in the form of Facebook Credits which then are converted automatically into Kingdoms Cash in the SAME transaction.

Earning Mana

One of the main goals as a player of Fantasy Kingdoms is to earn sufficient Mana to be able to invest in all the landscaping items, Crops and Trees that one desires. There are a few methods of doing this.

The easiest and quickest method of earning Mana is by tilling the soil and planting Seeds in the form of Magic Potions purchased from the Market. Here the strategy is the same for all farming simulation games on Facebook. Your success or failure somewhat is determined by your own knowledge of your online schedule and your ability to match appropriate Crops to that schedule.

All Crops have definite time limits for growth and harvest. If you do not harvest them fairly quickly once they are fully developed, they will be lost. In traditional Farming games like Farmville and Farm Town, the Crops wither and die. In Fantasy Kingdoms, they become 'bewitched', which amounts to the same thing.

Note that Fantasy Kingdoms includes Elixirs that act upon Nature in various ways to change the growth cycle of plants. There is a Minor Unbewitch Potion that will reverse the process of Bewitchment, setting the Crop back to the moment when it first became fully mature. The clock then will run and the Crop will become Bewitched again if you do not harvest it.

There is a Minor Growth Elixir that will cause a Crop to mature instantly. This can be useful if a player is involved in a Quest to gather a specific number of Crops.

Finally, there is a 'Freeze' Elixir that will freeze any Crop at its current stage of growth. This is my personal favourite, because it allows players to landscape their kingdoms with Crops in various stages, as well as rendering them impervious to Bewitchment.

The cost of these Elixirs is:

Minor Freeze: 4 KC
Contains 45 portions

Minor Growth: 7 KC
Contains 45 portions

Minor Unbewitch: 3 KC
Contains 45 portions

New players will be given a bottle of the Minor Unbewitch Elixir, allowing them to reverse Bewitchment of their Crops as they familiarise themselves with the game.

There are some similarities to Harvest Moon in these games in that you have the freedom to grow whatever you wish, but a basic knowledge and interest in mathematics will be to your advantage. An ability to tell time is essential.

However much a Crop may appeal to you, it would be counterproductive to plant it if you are not going to be able to harvest it when it is fully developed unless you are willing to invest 4 Kingdoms Cash in the Freeze Elixir. Crops that take only a few hours to grow should not be planted before you go to bed for the night obviously, as you will find them all bewitched when you return to your kingdom the next day.

If you can afford to spend a little time on the game at the very start, it may be worth the effort to buy the fast-growing Fresia that is ready for harvest in 4 hours. If you plant and harvest that a few times, your Levels will increase rapidly and you will be able to unlock a wider variety of Crops.

The Attraction of Catnip

Catnip is the fastest-growing Crop in Fantasy Kingdoms but may be a Limited Edition. It was added to the Potions List for a very brief period, but was re-introduced in the second half of August 2010.

Catnip
Cost: 5 Mana
Harvest in 10 Minutes
XP Gain: 1
Yield: 25 Mana
Available at Level 1

Prior to the introduction of Catnip, Fresia was the fastest-growing Crop. Catnip offers new players a golden opportunity to increase their levels rapidly. A player who grows Catnip for a living must remain in his/her Fantasy Kingdom almost constantly as a Crop that takes only 10 minutes to mature will bewitch in 10 Minutes as well!

Easy Profits

In most of the Facebook games, you can send only one gift to any individual per day. In Fantasy Kingdoms, although there is a limit of 22 Free Gifts that can be sent to other players unsolicited, there is no limit to the number of gifts you can send as 'thank you gifts' to other players. Furthermore, of the 22 Gift Requests that be made daily, there are no restrictions as to the number that can be sent to a single individual. All of these gifts can be used or sold. I have included resale prices for the various items that can be sent as Gifts. Once you have obtained all the items you need for your Kingdom, you can ask a friend to send Gifts in the form of the items that are worth the most when sold. You then can augment your farming income by selling duplicate items.

The Value of Trees

Crops in any Farming Simulation game on Facebook usually are subject to strict time limits but Trees provide profit without any restrictions. They tend to take longer to grow to the point where the fruits can be harvested but if you cannot access your farm or kingdom for a few days, you will find that the ripe fruit still can be harvested upon your return. In Fantasy Kingdoms, Trees usually will yield a harvest in 3 to 5 days, depending on the species. Here as with the Crops, traditional Northern folk magic has been combined with creative wit. Ash, Rowan and Weeping Willow Trees share this world with the mythical Phoenix Tree and Gold Leaf and Silver Leaf Trees. Even more fantastic are the Dryad and Ghost Trees.

Artifacts are magical items that can be harvested for Mana as well. They include the Unicorn Topiary, an item now given to new players when they first enter their Kingdoms.

At Level 1, quite a few Crop Seeds are available in the form of Cattails, Eye of Newt, Fresia and Magic Beans. Some Limited Edition Crops, such as Sunflowers and Wolfberry no longer are available.

Items fall into one of two general categories in Fantasy Kingdoms. They either produce Mana or they are strictly decorative. Crops and Trees produce Mana, as do Artifacts such as Stonehenge. Buildings such as Castles and Towers and some plants that once would have been called 'eye candy' do not produce any Mana whatsoever.

Any item that produces Mana (both energy and currency) does so in a specific period of time. Crops can be planted only on tilled soil. To till the soil or 'enchant' it, you can use either the Arrow/Multi-Tool or the Magic Wand/Stick. If you have not enchanted the soil, you will not be able to use any Seeds on it.

After harvesting any Crop, you must till the soil again before replanting. An interesting aspect of the game is that the name of the Crop that was last harvested on the square will appear when you access the untilled square. I am not certain why this occurs or what the significance of it may be.

The Nature of Artifacts

Artifacts are extremely interesting. They are items that go through cycles of construction once you purchase them and place them in your Kingdom. For example, when Stonehenge is placed on the land, you must wait one day for it to be completed. When it is 'ready', you can click on it to harvest 1300 Mana, a significant amount! You then need to click on it again and use 100 Mana to 'empower' it to begin its cycle afresh. When you do so, it will collapse completely and then slowly 'grow' into its finished form over the course of the next 24 hours.

Some Artifacts, including the Unicorn Topiary, are not quite so dramatic in their effects as they mature. Whatever the Artifact, however, it provides steady income in your Kingdom as long as you remember to 'harvest' the Mana and then empower the item again.

The Unicorn Artifact

The Unicorn Artifact that new players will find on their Kingdoms when they first begin to play is unique among Artifacts in that it is the only one that can be purchased with Mana. All other Artifacts require Kingdoms Cash (KC). As there is a significant Reward for players who place a total of 10 Artifacts on their Kingdoms, it may be worth the effort to purchase and place 9 more Unicorns on your Kingdom. The reward is a valuable Artifact in the form of the Pyramid of the Sun which costs 22 KC at the Market and can be gathered every 8 Hours for 1700 Mana.

Initial Resources

You begin the game with the following items:

Wizard's Tower
Sell for 100 Mana
Building

Wild Grass:
Sell for 5 Mana
Decoration

Stone Bench
Sell for 5 Mana
Decoration

Rowan Tree
Sell for 5 Mana
Tree

Enchanted Tree
Sell for 35 Mana
Tree

Unicorn Topiary
Sell for 100 Mana
Artifact

Toadstool Chair Purple
Sell for 20 Mana
Decoration

Click Use to place any item on your Land. You then can click on it to obtain a Wheel Menu that will allow you to Move it, Rotate it or Sell it.

Before you access your Gift Box, you will find six tilled Squares on your land.

Furthermore, both the Enchanted Tree and the Rowan Tree are ready to be harvested for Mana. You can obtain 18 Mana from the Rowan Tree and 70 Mana from the Enchanted Tree. The Unicorn Topiary likewise is ready for harvest for 240 Mana.

You begin the game at Level 1: School Drop Out. As soon as you have dealt with your initial resources and purchased some Cattails to plant on the existing squares, your experience should take you to Level 2: Slinger. Each increase in Level unlocks new Items. Often you will receive Gifts when you reach a new Level as well.

Apart from being rewarded for increasing your Experience to the next Level, there is a Daily Fortune that will award you a random number of Coins and a chance to find Mana when you work in your Kingdom or aid a Neighbour. Bonus points are more likely whenever you harvest Crops that have been enchanted by a Neighbour. Enchantment is the equivalent of Fertiliser in the ordinary farming world.

Charms

Apart from an increase in Levels, there are Charms that can be earned by your own actions. There are ten Categories of Charms and four Charms in each Category. The Categories are:

Blessed Enchanter: This charm is granted for kindly Enchanting Neighbours' Kingdoms
1st Charm awarded at 200 Visits

Big Spender: Spending Mana in the Market earns this prestigious Charm.

Arbourist in Residence: Arbourists receive this Charm for planting Magical Trees from the Market.

Mana Master: Presented to those magicians that have gathered amazing amounts of Mana.

Spellbound: Amazing amounts of spellcasting earn this well-respected charm.

Won't you be my Neighbour? Befriend Neighbours to unlock this Charm!

Magic Little Helper: Help Neighbours Clean up their Kingdoms to unlock this Charm!

Beautification Committee: Place Decorations on your Kingdom to unlock this Charm.

Matter of Artifact: Collect Artifacts to unlock this Charm.
N.B. The Platinum Charm rewards players with the Pyramid Artifact.

Gift It and Talented: Collect Unique Gifts in your Gift Box to unlock this Charm

As in any of the Facebook farming simulation games, you can earn rewards by visiting and aiding your Neighbours as well as by performing specific actions on your own land.

You begin the game with one Neighbour in the form of Harmony. Harmony is more than a construct for a game tutorial. She is a real Neighbour whom you can visit daily. Her Kingdom includes a Wishing Well that will grant a Wish to her visitors each day.

It is useful to note the actions that produce these Awards as each Award is accompanied by rewards in the form of Mana, Experience points and often an Item Gift as well.

Visiting and Aiding Your Neighbours

Unlike Farmville, there are no items that remain locked unless you have acquired a specific number of Neighbours in Fantasy Kingdoms. You can earn Mana and Charms, however, by visiting your Neighbours on a daily basis.

When you visit a Neighbour, provided always that it is your first visit of the day, a little Quest or Task will appear, wherein your Neighbour requests your aid. Invasions of Monstrous Toads, Venomous Serpents or the ravages of heavy winds are some of the colourful situations that you will encounter on a Neighbour's land. You simply need to click on the invaders or the effects to dissipate them. You then will be given an opportunity to 'enchant' or fertilise five squares of tilled soil. As in Farmville, you can enchant/fertilise tilled land that remains unplanted. Any Crop that has been enchanted will grow larger and more beautiful than the same Crop if unfertilised. You can 'find' extra Mana when harvesting Enchanted Crops. Furthermore, if Crops have become Bewitched on any Neighbour's land, you can unbewitch a total of 5 Crops.

You will earn +30 Mana and +8 XP when you complete the Task that has been set at any Neighbour's Kingdom. You will not gain a reward for partial completion of the Task.

You will earn +5 Mana and +1 XP for each Crop that you Enchant when visiting a Neighbour's Kingdom, apart from any Bonus that you obtain or find.

A player without any other Neighbours begins the game with Harmony as his/her Neighbour.

Harmony's Wishing Well

Harmony is your 'in-game' default Neighbour in Fantasy Kingdoms and you can visit her as you would any other Neighbour to gain a small reward for dispelling the mischief caused by intruders and possibly enchanting her Crops, if any remain unenchanted.

Harmony has a magical Wishing Well in the centre of her Kingdom. If you visit it daily, you can receive a Reward each day. Rewards are progressively more valuable if you do not miss a day. The usual Reward for the first Wish is 100 Mana. More valuable rewards include large sums of Mana such as 1000 Mana or even a Country House and are obtained on the 5th Day. After 5 consecutive days, the cycle will begin anew.

When you are prompted to 'visit each day', you must be aware of the fact that, very much like an Artifact, the Wishing Well begins at 0% as soon as your Wish is completed and takes 24 hours to reach 100% again. In other words, the 'next day' will be counted as 24 hours from the time when you visited previously. Wait too long and you are likely to receive only 100 Mana again.

Note that the Wishing Well is an additional reward that is given to visitors of Harmony's Kingdom. There is a regular daily reward in the form of Mana or Reagents from your 'Daily Fortune'.

The Daily Fortune no longer appears automatically on your screen. Click on the Activities Icon in the lower right corner of your screen to find the option to visit the Wishing Well, obtain your Daily Fortune, access the New Items in the Marketplace and Visit Neighbours.

Note that you always can visit Neighbours by accessing the Neighbours' Bar at the bottom of your Screen.

Spellcrafting

Spellcrafting is a fairly recent option in Fantasy Kingdoms which allows you to increase your Storage or to craft Items that ordinarily could be purchased only with Kingdoms Cash from the Marketplace.

The first Spellcrafting option was announced in the following terms:

By the winds of Fate, Harmony brings new powers in answer to your pleas. Follow the steps below and you will find you can store more things with ease. 'Rarest Scales of the Blue Dragon woven together with purest Copper Lace, a Silver Magic Coin finishes the spell, to keep everything in its place.' Your friends can find the Dragon Scales along with the Copper Ore, but Harmony grants the Magic Coin, so be on the lookout for more.

This Spell when Crafted will expand your Storage +5.

You should receive the Magic Coin needed for the Spell from the Game automatically. Blue Dragon Scales and Copper Ore are Free Gifts that can be sent by Neighbours. You need 15 of each to craft the spell.

Whenever you receive an Item that is used in Spellcrafting and choose to use it from your Gift Box, it will be moved to a special storage box.

Spellcrafting:

Your Magic Coin has been moved from your Gift Box to your Reagents Storage.

Medieval Theme Items:

Medieval Blacksmith:
Requires 17 Phoenix Fire, 14 Forged Keys, 1 Medieval Coin

Medieval Alchemist:
Requires 18 Vials of Stardust, 15 Garden Herbs, 1 Medieval Coin

Mushroom Theme Items:

Mushroom Library:
Requires 15 Red Mushrooms, 14 Blue Spellbooks, 1 Mushroom Coin

Mushroom Alchemist:
Requires 17 Purple Mushrooms, 16 Wild Herbs, 1 Mushroom Coin

Each Item in a Spellcrafting option can be obtained in a different manner. The Coins usually are given by Harmony as a Daily Fortune. The other two Items often can be given as Free Gifts or found when tending to a player's own Kingdom or the Kingdom of a Neighbour. Some Items are rewards from Harmony for tending to a Kingdom.

Bewitched Crops

If you do not harvest your Crops within the grace period allowed to them after they become ready for harvesting, they will become Bewitched. Until you reach Level 4, Harmony, your game-generated Neighbour, will shield your Kingdom with her protective powers to prevent Crops from becoming Bewitched, but once you reach Level 4, you will be forced to deal with the consequences of any neglect or tardiness.

There is a price to pay for allowing your Crops to become Bewitched. Although you will gain +1 XP for each Bewitched Crop that you clear from the land, you will be forced to pay +15 Coins for the action. Clearing a Bewitched Crop from a square automatically infuses it for the next planting, however, so it is not a total loss.

New players receive a bottle containing 4 Minor Unbewitch Elixirs, allowing them to reverse the process of Bewitchment for 45 separate Crops. This is a fairly generous Gift on the part of Harmony. After using the Unbewitch Elixir, a player either should harvest the Crop immediately or Freeze it!

Advanced Knowledge of Plants

A very interesting development in Fantasy Kingdoms is the ability to see the precise amount of time that remains before any fully-ripened Crop will become Bewitched. The information will appear when you pass your cursor over any Crop that is ready for harvest, but you will not be given access to this information at lower Levels.

At Level 5, when Harmony's Protective Spell that prevents any of your Crops from being Bewitched no longer is in effect, you will gain this 'new' power.

Strategies in Landscaping

One of the goals in any Farming Simulation game is landscaping or design. You can landscape your Farm or Kingdom with an aesthetic aim or you can maximise the amount of income that the land will generate. Fantasy Kingdoms is no different in this respect. As in other games, you can expand or upgrade your Kingdom by obtaining more land. You now can invest in two more Kingdoms as well.

Some players use items such as Trees as building blocks to create patterns or designs without really displaying any Tree individually. Others, including me, try to create a real landscape that shows the Trees to advantage as much as possible. It really is a matter of personal choice, although a player who wishes to be able to purchase an expensive building or item without investing real money in the game probably will opt to 'stack' their Trees. Stacking Trees and other items that produce Mana can create interesting abstract designs. They can be used to create pictures as well. I have seen a kingdom that was designed in the form of a dragon.

There is one strategic reason, apart from obtaining large amounts of Mana, for stacking your Trees on a temporary basis at least. When you have a specific number of items on your land, you can earn new levels of Awards in any Farming Simulation game. Trees placed on your Land are linked to the Arbourist in Residence Award.

Treasure Chests are sold as Decorations for 10 KC and indeed can be placed and used as decorations in your Kingdom as they are quite beautiful. They are designed to be opened, however, as they contain unique items that cannot be obtained in any other manner.

Among the items one could obtain in a Treasure Chest in the early autumn were:

Mermaid Fountain:
Category: Decoration
Can be activated as a fountain but does not produce Mana

Barn Owl
Category: Creature
Sell for 500 Mana

Portal Winds
Category: Artifact
Yields: 500 Mana
Empower for 100 Mana
Sell for 400 Mana

Tower Ruins
Category: Building or Decoration
Sell for 350 Mana

Tree of the Fallen
Category: Decoration
Can be activated like a lamp but does not produce Mana
Sell for 650G

New Items have been added to the Treasure Chests in Winter 2010.

Market Lists

The first category of item to be listed at the Market are Magic Potions, equivalent to Seeds in other farming games. Note that some of the items that have not been unlocked will appear even at the start of the game, with a notation as to Level requirements fo unlocking them, but others simply will be added to the Market menu when you have reached specific levels of Experience. There are surprises to be found, therefore, at the Market as you increase in Levels. Furthermore, the actual order of the items in the Menu may change a little according to your Character's Level. New Items are added to the game frequently and this Guide will be updated to include them whenever possible.

If you study the list of Artifacts, you will notice that some can be harvested more frequently than others. A lower price may indicate a bargain but you may discover that an Artifact that costs a little more gives better or more frequent rewards.

The Artifacts form the bedrock of income resources for regular players as they generate significant income without being subject to the power of Bewitchment. You do have to remember always to Empower the Artifact AFTER you Harvest it.

Elixirs

Elixirs are magical potions that are used to persuade Nature to speed the growth of Crops, stop their growth or undo the effects of Bewitchment.

The Growth Elixir, in the words of the game itself, 'is used to grow your palnts and flowers right before your eyes! After clicking on the partially grown plants and flowers, they will magically be ready to Gather!

This is a power that would be used primarily by artists who are attempting to create a specific effect with their landscaping and may not be able to wait for the natural schedule of the Crops to be completed.

The Unbewitch Elixir, again in the words of the game, 'can be used to restore the magic to Bewitched plants and flowers. Click tiles that are currently Bewitched to restore them. The Unbewitch Elixir does not protect plants and flowers from becoming bewitched again.

The Elixir sold in the Marketplace is the 'Minor Unbewitch' Elixir. It is possible that the 'Major Unbewitch Elixir' would protect Crops from becoming Bewitched in the future as well, but such an Elixir is not to be found in the Marketplace at present.

The 'Freeze' Elixir may be the most popular of all. It freezes the growth of any Crop and prevents it from becoming Bewitched. You can freeze a Crop at any stage of growth. If you wish to create landscaping effects using newly planted 'Potion' Seeds as well as Crops in different stages of growth, the Freeze Elixir is the one to use.

Each Elixir contains 45 single Uses. As you can see, the prices are different for each type of Elixir.

XP Gain: 0

Minor Growth
Cost: 9 KC

Note that new players now are given a bottle of the Minor Unbewitch Elixir, allowing them to reverse Bewitchment of their Crops as they become more familiar with the game when they reach Level 5.

Buildings

As of August 2010, there are five basic Themes where Buildings are concerned. The first is the 'Country' Theme, resembling Tudor style half-timbered construction. The second is the 'Fantasy' Theme which is very organic, with intertwined wines and flowers topped with pink roofing. The third is the 'Traditional' Theme, constructed of stone with blue-grey slate roofing.

In August, two new themes were introduced in the form of the 'Halo' Theme and the 'Shadow' Theme.

Lunar New Year and Valentine's Day Collections

This is a Quick Reference Guide to the Limited Edition Crops and Items in the Lunar New Year and St. Valentine's Day Collections. As they no longer will be available in the near future, I have opted to create a separate Guide for them rather than adding them to my Fantasy Kingdoms Walkthrough and Guide.

Note that there are some regular Items that have been denoted temporarily as Lunar New Year or Valentine's Day Items, including the Chinese Lantern Crop, the Snapdragon Crop and the Princess House. As these Items will continue to be offered after the Limited Editions Items have been retired, they are not included in this Guide. You will find them instead in the General Guide.

Quests in February 2011

In February, a list of Quests are available for players of Fantasy Kingdoms. Icons will appear in the top left corner of a player's screen. Icons for the first two Quests appear simultaneously. As you complete these Quests, new Icons that denote the next Quests in the sequence will appear. You therefore have some choice as to the order in which you wish to complete individual Quests.

Once you have completed the 'Ring the Bells' Quest, special Valentine's Day Quests that are centred on the Limited Edition Crops for St. Valentine's Day will begin to appear. As these three Crops will not be available in March, you therefore need to complete the 'Ring the Bells' Quest as soon as possible if you wish to have the opportunity to earn the Rewards for ALL the Quests.
